Chocolate is cheaper than therapy!

This was a fun one!!! We needed to use an odd number of decorations on Tuesdays card.

Here we have:
1.) Patterned paper backing
2.) Copic-coloured image
3.) 3 buttons
4.)Sentiment
7.)Crystal Effects applied to glasses and wheels

That is a total of 7, or if you don't count the crystal effects (since its already on the image...) and the card base, 5!! So either way, we're odd! Funny how hard it is to limit yourself when you are really thinking about it lol! I really like this little dude, and the sentiment. First time I have used either, they are soo cute. Paper is from Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe collection.

Yummy Balloon Card

Hmm how fitting that I am posting a cupcake/birthday card today.. since it is my birthday!!!! I am offically 24 as of 2.5 hours ago... now I am afraid to look in the mirror - will I find my first grey hair or wrinkle? lol

For Monday's challenge @ 365 Cards, we had to create a non-traditonal balloon.. I immediately knew I would be using these gorgeous embellies from Martha Stewart that have been laying in my stash for ages!!! I conveniently had some SewEasy thread that coordinated perfectly with the frosting on each cupcake :) The sentiment is pretty much perfect for this card as well! I don't do a lot of 'white space' on my cards but I am really loving the simplicity on this one!! Again, took photos on my iPhone so the quality is not the best.

"Shine" Chandelier Card

Catching up on the 365 challenges that have been posted so far this week, so sorry in advance for the multiple posts!

First off, I'm pleased to say one of my cards was selected as a Spotlight Designer again!! Day 157, the ad inspired challenge from last week. Thanks to those @ 365 Cards for honouring me yet again!! :)

Now on to the first of this weeks card posts - Super Sketchy Sunday # 160 to start - I felt like making a square card for this one! We had to base our card off of this sketch:

Annd here is my card. I used scrap patterned paper, I'm pretty sure its Basic Grey, but it is yeaaars old and I have noo idea what line it was! I then used some lace ribbon, and embellies I had made last year for a swap using my cricut - the chandelier is from Home Decor. I used a crapload of distress paint in tattered rose, I believe. Love that stuff!

Little... Big!

I really struggled with this one... I think it turned out okay tho. Apologies if the photo is only sub-par, I used my iPhone instead of the camera today. Anyway, 365 Cards - Opposite Day - include at least two opposite combinations on your card. I chose Big and Little (Small flower, big flower) and Patterned and Plain (the paper, obviously lol.). The flower cuts are from Once Upon a Princess - sooo cute! All the paper I used from my scrap drawer, woot woot! :) I added some stickles here and there, and the sentiment is heat embossed.. however, it was supposed to be BROWN not gold... I somehow picked the wrong powder... I have no idea where the brown is, but I hope I find it because its really pretty... and I only used it once :(.
Here is the inside, nice and simple!
This card I made yesterday, it was originally going to be my card for yesterday's Sweet Treat challenge... but I really didn't like it, so I didn't post it! I guess its actually not that bad - Paper and ribbon are from Hobby Lobby, sentiment is heat embossed, and the loopy punch is Martha Stewart. A nice, bright birthday card!

Sweet Treats!! :)

Theme of the day is 'sweet treats' @ my fav 365 cards. Use at least 2 treats somewhere on your card...

I used two TPC papers for this... can't remember the line, annnd I'm not moving to go check lol! Anyway, my cute little stamped image has been coloured in with Copics (this paper is not the right quality, and just makes it look like i've coloured with pencil crayon up close.. blah), cupcakes were paper pieced, used some stickles for frosting, and 3D glaze on the cherries. Red raffia is from Dollarama. Little Birgitta is sitting on a cupcake, cut from the Once Upon a Princess cart.

Closeup of the SwissPixies stamp :)

another paper pieced cupcake, and Studio G sentiment. I love this card!!

Soft Dress Form Card

Ad inspiration - I always find these challenges fun, but I laughed when I saw it last night.
Dress forms! Lol, reminds me of the card I made yesterday... I am really loving that dress from cut from the Nifty Fifties cartridge... sooo guess what I did again?? haha
The patterned paper is from The Girl's Paperie, soo pretty!!! Also I think I am obsessed with my new heat gun... <3
I love the colours on this paper! The pink dress is slightly hideous.. I had this bright idea to stamp all over it with a button, then heat emboss... it was a great idea.. but it failed miserably lol!

Life IS too short for beige!

That sentiment cannot be more true for me! You will seldom find me wearing white, beige, brown, navy, black or grey. I am ALWAYS in bright colours... so cheery! I love this Stamping Bella sentiment, it always makes me smile, so I knew it was perfect for todays 365 Cards project  - cheer someone up using images or a words. I think this card does that!
I had gone to the states today, and am so pleased - I didn't buy a lot of scrap stuff - a spool of ribbon, 2 sheets of paper, 2 stamps, a Spellbinders embossing plate, and.. drumroll... A HEAT GUN! I have been wanting one for ages but they are so expensive in Canada ($40, wtf Michaels...), and I got it for about 11 bucks at Hobby Lobby, thanks to a 40% off coupon! I used misc buttons, paper from my scrap pile (Sassafrass Lass, I love youuu! The Life is Beautiful Woodland Whimsy line in Jack's Beanstalk) andd finally cracked open my new Nifty Fifties Cricut cartridge - the dress form is so perfect for this card!

The scalloped trim is also from the Sassafrass Lass paper I used, it is the bottom edger, again - love this line because you don't waste anything! Totally useable. The dressform is heat embossed, I pressed the back of a smaller dressform i had cut out into my ink, pressed it onto my paper, heat embossed and voila! I then turned around and glued the dress form onto an envie. Makin' use of scraps :) Love it!

Fabulous 40!

Its kind of ridiculous how I don't post for months, then post several times in one day.
I thought I was done craftin' for today... but I remembered the existence of my ScorPal, and decided I should dust it off, plus I needed to make a special card for one of my boss' 40th birthday!! Coincidentally, we share the same birthday :)
I used Crate Paper's Emma's Shoppe Collection, Martha Stewart edge punch, Sew Easy twine, Dollarstore bling and an ADORABLE Recollections flower. There are two pockets on the card front, the first has a tag in it with sentiment (see below for detail), the second I will probably put a giftcard in.

I wanted to recognize her 40th birthday, but wanted to be subtle about it! I think you can tell - I didn't have stamps large enough, so I just cut out '40', inked the backs a bit, pressed the ink on my scalloped oval, and then went over the numbers with my clear Spica for some added sparkle. I think that 40 IS fabulous, so this sentiment works perfectly :)

I forgot I had this stamp (Studio G)... I think I really need to clean up my scrap area a bit lol!

It's always fair weather

Okay, so just a quick little display of the cards I made last night/this afternoon.
This first one is for 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday challenge :)
I absolutely LOVE little Emma... CC Designs SugarPlums stamps are just too adorable!!
I coloured Emma with my copics, and for some reason, I really really felt that she needed to have a shiny, slick raincoat and boots!! I also really felt the need to do some paper piecing, so that is what you will see in all of the following cards. Grass border is from the Plantin' Schoolbook cartridge, clouds are Graphically Speaking, and stamped sentiment is from Verve Stamps.

Here's a closeup of Emma where she isn't quite so laquered looking... it really caught the flash on the camera in the first picture.

A blonde Emma again, this time with a Verve Stamp I've never used before... such a sweet phrase!!

And a very simple brunette Emma... I knoww I know, its not spring... but it just goes with her umbrella and rainboots so well!!

This last card is for my Aunt Judi's 60th birthday. She LOVES purple, but I couldn't find any really 'purpley' paper, this was basically all I had with purple on it. Cute little CC Designs SwissPixies stamp, I paper-pieced her dress and the cupcakes, added a bit of stickles to her wings and the cupcake frosting... She is too cute!! Phrase is Stamping Bella.

'Peace'ful birthday

Okay.. I really need to start staging my cards much better for pictures!!! I really like how this one turned out. For today's challenge @ 365 Cards, I had to use a peace sign on my card somewhere. Kind of stumped me at first, since I'm not really a peace sign person! I did have a chipboard shape that I knew would work great, so I kind of threw it on my card with a bunch of other stuff... reminds me of a funky little shirt I used to have back in highschool. Anyway, voila! Various bits and pieces from my embellie bag that were left over, this amazing fabric heart - I recieved it and a few other pieces in a swap, I WISH I knew where to get them/what line it was! They are so cute, kind of faux leather. Hmm maybe I'll find some tomorrow on my shopping trip to the states?? I can only hope :)
Punch is Martha Stewart, paper is K&Co. Inside sentiment reads 'Bring on the cake' - super cute, I forgot to snap a picture of it.

Scissorbella

I made these cards as a gift for my cousin, who is a hairdresser. She came to visit a few weeks ago, and I had picked up this adorable Bella stamp from my LSS for only $1.50!! I used a 6x6 Crate Paper pad, along with my very first Copics (only 3, skin tones), and some various Bic markers. I LOVE THESE! Oh, one of these cards didn't go with the pack I gave my cousin, that would be the Bella who is holding a baby and cleaning.. also love that one, again, it was 2.99? pretty good deals!!!
Here are a couple of my favs!!

Isn't that stiching pretty? Picked myself up a SewEasy stitch piercer and some twine as well... such nice little treats!!!

Card Recipe

Finally, a new post!!!!!!!! This summer is going so quickly and I feel I haven't been able to do much crafting/enjoying of the summer weather... its so sad!!!
This card is for day 154 @ 365 Cards. We had to: use 3 buttons, use scallops, a sentiment and a stamped image. Here is an adorable stamped image by C.C. Designs, coloured with my new COPICS!!! I love them. I think I will be buying more colours as a birthday gift to myself :) Sentiment is Verve Stamps, Cardstock is... Crate Paper, I forget which line, but super cute! I used my scalloped oval Spellbinders to trim around little Emma here.
